Bio

A native of Washington, D.C., and of Latina heritage, Paloma O’Leary has been making and recording music since the age of 5. She began her singing career recording a small solo in Spanish for the educational album, The Songs of Isabella & Ferdinand Spanish Language Adventures and began training as a vocal artist. In January 2018 Paloma was awarded Best Solo and Best Overall Youth Artist at Children’s National Hospital’s “Rock for Cure” benefit contest which was judged by Washington DC local radio, studio owners and other musical professionals. As her prize, she won studio recording time and was invited to perform at the Ryan Seacrest Studios at the hospital for patients where she has since returned several times. Paloma has also performed at other benefit events for Children’s Hospital and for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

As a Youth Ambassador for the Playing for Change Foundation Paloma was the one child performer asked to participate in a 2018 cover rendition of “Smile” (Charlie Chaplin) with other renowned music artists in commemoration of International Women’s Day which was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Colombian producer, DJ and singer-songwriter Ali Stone. She also recorded a video for Playing for Change to celebrate U.N. Creativity Day and was invited to perform at the organization’s high-profile benefit in Miami alongside Pharrell Williams.

Paloma was a member of the Children’s Chorus of Washington (CCW) for many years and performed in numerous concerts in Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, and Boston as well as being selected to be in the 2017 American Choral Directors Children’s Honors Choir. In 2018, Paloma traveled with CCW to South Africa for a special 10-day tour to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth. Paloma was also involved with Imagination Stage for many years, including in their musical theatre conservatory program. At the Madeira School, she is in the Glee choral group and co-heads the acapella group Sweet Ti.

Paloma has performed the National Anthem at EagleBank Arena, CapOne Arena and Audi Field at nationally televised sporting events for DC United, the Wizards, the NY Knicks and others. Following the release of her singles “Frenemy” and “I’m Fine”, Paloma released her first EP, “Siren Song” which is focused on water as a theme given her passion for marine conservation. Paloma is a proud member of ASCAP. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and has performance proficiency in French.

Aside from music, Paloma is passionate about education, Latina empowerment, and combatting climate change through marine conservation efforts. She thinks she might have been a mermaid in a previous life, a singing one.
